Also note age/birthdate discrepancy: marriage license on June 16, 1881 he lists age as 24. And spelling of name on license appears to be "Pursifull". Crossed the USA in a covered wagon and settled in Jasper County Illinois. Per direct conversation with June (Percival) Hittle, Jeff's brothers and sisters moved to the area of Cairo, Illinois (SW tip of state near Mississippi). By 1942 had changed spelling of name to PERCIVAL, although his son Joseph still kept the original spelling. About 1942 he lived and died in Peru IL. Burried in church cemetary in Rose Hill, Illinois. Lists occupation in 1900 census as Barber.

June (Percival) Hittle lived with Jeff and Asa until she was 17.

1910 census shows a grandson living with CJ and Asa named Eugene P. (b. abt 1904), and CJ's occupation as Insurance.

1920 census show Eugene (now age 16) still living with them, and CJ's occupation as Livery.

1930 census has Gene (age 27) and June (grandaughter age 11) living with them, and CJ's occupation as Taxi driver.
